Gwamile VOCTIM was founded in 1987 and was officially opened in 1988 under the auspices of the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) in collaboration with the Swaziland Government. It has since become a fully Swaziland Government owned institution that has produced qualified individuals with specific skills and competencies at craft level over the years.
The Institute contributes to enable Swaziland’s public and private sector establishments to recruit skilled craftsmen and clerical workers from the local labour market and to upgrade their staff through in-service training. It also provides secondary school leavers and other young unemployed with a systematic training at Certificate and Diploma level with emphasis on the development of practical skills and with view towards self-employed.
The Institute has six departments:
