Mechanical Engineering is the department of engineering dealing with the design, construction and use of systems and machines. It is one of the broadest and most versatile of the engineering professions and offers a wide scope in terms of career opportunities in all areas of industry. The Mechanical Engineer applies scientific principles to the design, development, construction, installation, operation and maintenance of the machines and systems that drive our world. Graduates are enabled to make a real difference in the world we live in.

The department has produced many graduates who are holding highly esteemed positions in industry and society. We are very proud of the caliber of graduates produced by the department. It is also worth mentioning that almost all the graduates from 2014 have been absorbed by industry.
